I personally did not experience much of HL2RP, specifically the english speaking community, but from what I have gathered from russian based servers and a few dozen of hours played on english speaking servers as well -
Pros
Good development, the framework is very well made in my opinion and is something i have never seen in any russian based hl2rp server, it gives the citizens and rebels activities other than desperately looking for fights with CPs(which tbh still happens after they get the weapons they want), and is a good substitute to job-given weapons that you can see in russian servers, which eliminates P2W, not to mention the ambient music that plays at all times and switches depending on your location and city code, CPs UI with waypoints of last locations of units that lost signal, quizes that you have to pass to play as CP or OTA, and more stuff that i wont go on about because the list is long.
Cons
Community, I have no clue whats going on but from what i've seen its pretty nasty, server files leaked, discord servers nuked, players personal data such as passwords and ip addresses leaked not just by hackers but by the owner himself, devs/staff underpaid/not paid at all, all sorts of sins done by the owners, word documents with dozens of pages, hl2rp is turning into twitter
Would I recommend hl2rp? I believe that in Garry's Mod anything with the right people can be fun.
